Perigo Family Eye Care offers complete eye care services, from children’s eye exams to dry eye and glaucoma treatment — and a broad selection of high quality eyewear including unique brands and designs not available from most retail chain vision centers.
From the very beginning, our second-generation, family-owned practice has always done things a bit differently.
We put our patients first, providing eye care services and solutions customized to each individual’s specific needs, lifestyle and budget.
Perigo Family Eye Care started in 1986 when Terry Perigo, Dr. Todd Perigo’s father, opened the original office on Hamilton Road. The High Street location opened in 1989. Dr. Todd Perigo has been working with his family in the practice since high school. Upon finishing his optometric training in 2002, Dr. Perigo began seeing patients as the optometrist at the High Street office. In 2014, Dr. Kelly Jo Makley joined the practice.
Today, his father continues to work in the practice as an optician, running the laboratory operations. While his mother, Patty Perigo, handles many of the business and insurance duties. They all still live in Grove City.
We’re truly a family-centric business and we consider our patients like family too.
Dr. Todd Perigo is an optometrist in private practice and second-generation owner of Perigo Family Eye Care. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University’s highly selective program and completed his disease training at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
He and his family grew up in Grove City and continue to live here. He considers his patients as neighbors and friends. As a husband and father, he is a strong believer in and practioner of family-centric care. He treats his patients the way he would want his own family treated — with respect, dignity, compassion, and patience.
He is always incorporating the latest technologies, eyewear, and vision care solutions into the practice and enjoys being able to offer his patients a wide selection of frames that are not typically available at most optical centers. That includes a broad array of fashionable European designs, as well as some American made frames.
Dr. Kelly Jo Makley grew up in St. Mary’s, Ohio. She attended Wittenberg University, graduating with a degree in biology, as well as minors in chemistry and dance. She was accepted into The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she graduated with honors. During her time at Ohio State, she was involved in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and the American Optometric Student Association.
Dr. Makley believes the best part of her job is creating relationships with her patients and delivering the best possible care to all. She is married to Jeff and has two young children, Teddy and Alma.
